Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mobility Technician (Service + Repairs) to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for servicing and repairing mobility devices, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently for our customers. Your expertise will directly impact the independence and quality of life for those we serve.

Primary Responsibilities Include

• This is a part time position, which may become full time as the business sets goals to grow and expand.
• Educating the client on how to use and maintain their device(s) safely.
• Performing maintenance on medical mobility equipment.
• Diagnosing problems and coming up with solutions to repair mobility equipment.
• Explaining issues with equipment and repair process to customers.
• Getting quotes on parts needed for repairs.
• Creating detailed reports and keeping records on services that have been performed.
• Demonstrating ability to follow instructions.

Knowledge and Skills

• High school diploma or GED
• 5+ years of experience preferred
• Experience repairing and adjusting brakes on items such as mobility equipment and/or bicycles is a plus
• Repair, service, test, and troubleshoot equipment
• Must be able to read instructions and diagrams
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and diagnostic skills
• Skilled in problem-solving and troubleshooting
• Working knowledge of the equipment needed for the job
• Working knowledge of the Internet and Google Docs
• Ability to learn new products and how to assemble and repair them quickly (Extensive product training will be available from both the suppliers and Beyond Accessible)
• Ability to talk about technical details with tech support, and higher level communication with customers
• Work independently without much supervision
• Driver’s license, reliable transportation, and clean driving record
• Effectively manage time
• Detail oriented and must be good with tools

A plus, if you have experience and/or feel comfortable driving a large work van and towing a Cargo Trailer behind an SUV.

Physical Requirements of the Job

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds and above
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job which include bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting heavy equipment and working in confined spaces
• Work requires regularly reaching and grasping objects at, above, and below shoulder level
• Work requires the ability to be on your feet for eight hours during one work shift
• Work requires regularly grasping and fine manipulation with hands
• Work requires attending supplier training when appropriate/needed
• Work requires some use of computers
• Must be able to work by oneself
• Ability to work up to eight hours per day and up to 24-40 hours per week. Must also be able to work weekends.
• Ability to work independently.

Work Location: In person
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
